Due to the AI boom, the cost of laptops and smartphones has increased suddenly, and Zoho Founder Vembu clarified that this is putting pressure on and increasing the cost of memory, power equipment, and CPUs. Data shows that the cost of a 64 GB DDR5-6000 kit has increased 500 percent in a year. Programming languages and software systems were designed assuming that memory is free, but this is no longer the case.
Zoho founder Vembu says that there is a need for memory-efficient languages, and developer productivity should not come at the expense of huge memory consumption. Another major reason memory is becoming costlier is the demand for memory chips in data centers, due to which running a business has become difficult.
