NBA (National Biodiversity Authority) has disbursed 2.82 crore under the Benefit-Sharing mechanism. 27 States will receive the disbursed amount, including 3 Union Territory Biodiversity Councils, and 2.01 Lakh rupees will be given to ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Karnataka. The released funds will be utilised for activities including updating and documentation of in-situ and ex-situ biodiversity registers, restoration of degraded ecosystems, and capacity building of Biodiversity Management Committees.
