These were the social values instilled and in thoughts of Sunil Shetty, when he refused an ad of tobacco product offered by a huge company, which would have given him and handsome income of 40 crores being relevant even after not having worked as a main lead role in Bollywood films for more than a decade, Sunil Shetty is still relevant because of his ethics and social values. He owes it to the public and feels that he should not be promoting products which are not good for people and could create a false impressionon the minds of young individuals and lead them to a negative path. He says that if he endorses a product which he does not feel is of any use or is contributing towards the betterment of society, he himself, Ahan, Athaya and Rahul will also be put in the radar, he feels the social responsibility and a moral obligation for not endorsing such products. Thus, when he was offered a tobacco product for endorsing for a fees of 40 crores, that could instigate him to do the ad, but he very politely declined where several other celebrities are endorsing such products. It was the first in the last offer that he had received after refusing.
As a public figure it was his responsibility to promote good health as he has a fit and healthy body. He respects his body and considers it as a temple
