eGCA platform is in the development stage by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) and is aimed at making the processing and submission of mandatory occurrence reports efficient. The intention of this initiative is to strengthen the aviation sector, as announced by Minister K Naidu in the Rajya Sabha.

This eGCA platform will help to facilitate electronic processing and submission of mandatory occurrence reports to improve incident reporting efficiency and timelines. The minister highlighted the safety oversight framework that currently exists. The oversight process includes night surveillance, special audits and spot checks, and regulatory audits. This platform will improve e-governance of the civil aviation sector.

Minister of Civil Aviation of state said in a reply that airfare pricing is considered by dynamic changes driven by supply and demand and a range of other factors like fuel expense, seasonal fluctuations, aircraft capacity, and seat occupancy. The government refrains from regulating airfares to maintain competitiveness, and this portal will redistribute capacities and temporary fare caps during Maha Kumbh and Indigo disruptions, said Mohol.
